JACK ROBY

BA Hons Filmmmaking

Being the filmmaker of the group my main job was to document everything we did. I then refined my footage

to the best bits and created two factual videos. The first video is a quick insight into Where The Light Gets In

showing what the restaurant is all about. The second video is all about our proposal and what we plan to make the restaurant.

Initial ideas

When we first arrived at the restaurant we all loved the aesthetic and general feel of the place. We knew we didn't want to change this artistic feel the restaurant already had, just expand on it a bit. We ultimately came up with the idea of light projections used in the entrance to liven the area up a bit.

I focused heavily on the restaurant video because it's important to have a clear back story for the restaurant, laying out exactly what they are setting out to achieve and how they do it. We managed to interview the owners which allowed them to narrate the video themselves giving it a more personal dynamic.

Our Process Video

After making a video for the restaurant I then realised I needed to create a video about our proposal of what we were going to make. This video was made a lot harder due to the covid-19 pandemic. I had to create this video by not being able to film anything myself. It was down to my group members to send me plans and footage of our idea. This didn't give me much creative space at all but I had to work with it. Because of the great communication of our group we managed to collate enough material for me to produce an informative video of what we plan to make.
